Mark Fleming
Chief Geologist
Mark is a geologist with 35 years of experience in mineral exploration, mining and project evaluation, across a variety of commodities. He has held senior management roles in operations and project evaluation, the first of which he commenced in 1994 with Normandy Mining and continued to work for, amongst others, Newmont and Resolute Mining. He has spent the last 12 years in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Tanzania, Nigeria and Senegal. Mark is a member of the AusIMM and is recognised by JORC as a competent person in the reporting of resources and reserves.
Robert Monro
Head of Business Development
Bert spent 2 years working for a City-based headhunting firm before joining Hummingbird in early 2009 as Operations Manager. Bert was initially based in the field predominantly at the Dugbe F Project overseeing the scout drill programme and the first resource drill programme in 2010 as well as regional exploration work. Following 18 months in the field Bert spent 6 months in Monrovia as the acting Country Manager, overseeing all in-country activity, before returning to be based in London in April 2011 to head up Hummingbird’s Corporate Development and Investor Relations.
Timothy Illingworth
Country Manager
Tim is a former officer of the British Army. He joined Hummingbird Resources in April 2011 as Country Manager after serving for 9 years in the Light Infantry and latterly in the Rifles. During his military career, Tim gained considerable experience in the planning and conduct of operations in demanding environments as well as the related HR and administrative requirements to manage a large, busy, operational organisation.
