Hummingbird Resources is a gold exploration and development company. It was initially granted nearly 10,000 km2 of licence area in eastern Liberia. After thorough early stage exploration and pragmatic relinquishment of less prospective ground, Hummingbird is now focusing on circa 7000km2 of ground, selected along the most prospective areas of major crustal shear zones in the last unexplored section of the Birimian craton.

The Birimian is the world’s second largest gold producing region. It is characterised by large, low-grade deposits and is the fastest growing gold producing region on the planet. Before Hummingbird’s arrival, the Birimian was completely unproven in Liberia.

Our objectives are to discover, evaluate and develop gold deposits. We are doing this through systematic exploration work across the 14 licence areas we hold over three major shear zones in this world class Birimian land package.

As well as gold licences, Hummingbird Resources owns 50% of Iron Bird Resources Inc in a joint venture with Petmin Ltd, which owns the highly prospective Mt Ginka iron ore licence.

Our exploration programme is supported by an exceptional operational and logistics team, based out of Hummingbird HQ in Monrovia, forward bases at Greenville and Zwedru and professional field camps. We have built or rehabilitated over 120km of roads and bridges and continue to advance our capacity and infrastructure in order to achieve our exploration goals as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
