Project Progress
Dugbe
Overview
The Dugbe licence area (100% Hummingbird) consists of 900 square kilometres in central eastern Liberia, lying some 60km north east of the coastal town of Greenville. Dugbe is underlain by birimian geology, making it highly prospective for gold, and is currently Hummingbird’s most advanced project. Initial stream sediment sampling revealed large gold anomalies, each 6km long and up to 2km wide, in blocks B and F. Due to its comparatively more simple logistics, block F has been the preliminary focus.
Highlights
Preliminary Interpretation
Current models envisage a potential geological resource in excess of three million ounces of gold. Initial work also implies that this could be a very economic resource, with a shallow dipping ore body (7 degrees down to south east) implying a low waste to ore strip ratio off approximately 3.5:1 at 500 metres depth to ore body.
Forward Plans & Drilling
With a significant gold in soil anomaly of over 4km in length, additional infill soil sampling and trenching is planned, as well as a comprehensive resource drilling programme of approximately 20,000m. This would be approximately 25% diamond and 75% RC drilling and should confirm the resource. Deep drilling would be utilised to test down dip extensions and new ground applications will be submitted south and west of Dugbe following on strike from ore bodies.
