Hummingbird Resources (HUM) says Hole 3 in its Tuzon prospect in Liberia has shown 56 metres with an average 1.4 grammes of gold per tonne of ore. The AIM-quoted company indicates drilling at Hole 3 has encountered intersections ranging from one metre with 0.88 grammes a tonne to 22 metres with 1.31 grammes a tonne and 8.52 metres with 1.89 grammes a tonne.

The AIM-traded company with a significant package of 7,000 square kilometres of exploration interests floated in December 2010 in conjunction with a £30 million placing. Gold explorer Hummingbird Resources has enjoyed a successful AIM debut today with its shares soaring by as much as 22 per cent.  Formed in 2005 Hummingbird is focused on West Africa and in particular East Liberia where it holds the largest area of mineral exploration land. It also has a significant iron ore license area in North Liberia, this is close to existing projects heralded by BHP Billiton and Arcelor Mittal.
